Meet Lacey

Hi there! I am so happy you’re here. I am Lacey Hassing, the owner and chef of Lacey’s Catering. I grew up in the food service industry - my mom was a restaurant manager for many years. My first job was washing dishes at a local restaurant. I became a server for the first time simply because my sister was sick and could not go. Next was fry cook, then grill cook, then culinary school!

During college and different opportunities within the industry, I worked for chef Kim Ernest at Kim’s Cuisine. I fell in love with catering; feeding large crowds for typically happy occasions. However, Kim taught me that food is art and I learned how to serve food that looks as good as it tastes.

Now, I am inspired by Chef Kim Ernest, Chef Jim Hanson, Chef Michael Broughton, Chef Liz Klewier, Chef Julia Child, my mom, my grandmothers and the homestyle cooking I grew up on. I started Lacey’s Catering in 2015.

Now for some non work related things about me! I am a compulsive rewatcher of tv shows, especially Gilmore Girls. I am the girl who tries to adopt the stray farm cats, a crazy dog mom to my girl Dixie, and the aunt who spoils her niece and nephew too much. I love crocs but not for the style. I believe leggings absolutely are pants. I call myself the 20-something grandma because I am a homebody who enjoys movie nights, puzzles, a good book or a hot bath. I have a big smile and a bigger heart. I love to help people and want you to have your perfect event!
